Plant the Planet's Petron to Petron MTB X-Country Race

Plant the Planet holds its first mountain bike race on April 30, 2017 dubbed Petron to Petron MTB X-Country Race. The 40-kilometre race, done in cooperation with the Bicycle Association of Dipolog, Inc. (BADI), begins with a motorcade from Dapitan City Petron Service Station, Dapitan City to Turno Petron Service Station where the race official starts. This race aims to promote environmental consciousness among us carrying the message “Save our Planet, Ride a Bike.”

Our guest speaker, Earl C. Ceballos of Petron Corporation, explains that Petron may be in the business of selling fuel and lubricants, but it is also pursuing a cause that is beneficial for the environment. It may seem a contradiction for a petroleum-based company to promote the use of bicycles and clean air, but Petron is aware of everybody’s environmental responsibility and has launched a new range of fuel that is eco-friendly. Hence, a clean and better environment is what we all should aim for.

Almost 200 riders from Dipolog City, Dapitan City, Cagayan de Oro City, Ozamis City, Dumaguete City, Zamboanga City, Bukidnon, Oroquieta City, Pagadian City, Tangub City and the municipalities of Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga Sibugay participate in the event.
